A working fishing port and spa town at the mouth of the Słupia. The red-brick 1892 lighthouse, the swinging pedestrian bridge, the unfinished German breakwater that was meant to shield a great port and now serves anglers.

Ustka is a working fishing port and a spa town at the mouth of the Słupia river. The old fishing settlement survives in the grid of Marynarki Polskiej and Kosynierów streets, where narrow wooden cottages remind you that long before the resort, this was simply a port village. The beachfront promenade was built on the dunes in 1875 and still does its job.

Three places are worth a proper stop. The red-brick lighthouse from 1892 stands 19.5 m tall and is open to climb in season. The swinging pedestrian bridge over the Słupia closes every few tens of minutes to let fishing boats through, so time your crossing or settle in for a 40-minute wait. The Blücher bunkers, a 1930s coastal artillery battery, run as an underground museum year-round.

Ustka is a 20-minute drive from Rowy via Objazda. By bike on the coastal red trail through Dębina and Poddąbie it takes about 1.5 hours. In season the port runs passenger ferries to Bornholm and tourist boat cruises.
