A regional city holding the world's largest Stanisław Ignacy Witkiewicz collection in the White Granary. Next to it, the 16th-century Castle of the Pomeranian Dukes and a medieval penitence stone from 1387 by the museum entrance.
Słupsk is a regional city inland, 40 minutes by car from Rowy. A town on the Słupia river, with surviving stretches of medieval walls, the Witches' Tower, an Art Nouveau town hall, and riverside bulwarks. A classic day trip for when the coast's weather gives up.
The main draw is the Museum of Central Pomerania, split across two buildings. The Castle of the Pomeranian Dukes, built in 1507 and given its Renaissance profile in 1580-87, holds exhibits on the Griffin dynasty and the old art of Pomerania; by the entrance lies a medieval penitence stone from 1387, the only one preserved in Pomerania. The White Granary, an early-19th-century warehouse, houses the world's largest collection of Stanisław Ignacy Witkiewicz, alias Witkacy: his Portrait Company, drawings, photographs, and correspondence.
Castle and Castle Mill ticket: PLN 24 (reduced PLN 18). White Granary: PLN 30 (reduced PLN 24). Combined ticket for both sites: PLN 49 (reduced PLN 38). The complex is open year-round, with one free day a week that shifts by season. Three to four hours covers all the exhibitions.
